in other news last week was wonderful in some unexpected ways. ways like walking around campus listening to "train in vain (stand by me)" by the clash over (download it now by the way. catchiest song ever) and over and loving that i just owned my short story class debate and remembering why i love what i'm doing. i love possibilities and there being a lot of them right now. i love reading books that make me nostalgic for places i've never been like the red-grassed fields of nebraska in 1914. i love sitting on a depleted couch in a skirt staring at the disco ball lights on the floor of a not-too-crowded venue while listening to bands i've never heard before and not being able to stop smiling. i like talking to people and just for a second i get a glimpse of where they're coming from though i might not talk to them for weeks or months.
those content moments i thought i'd grown out of. i thought they only resided in south jordan parks or deserted idaho roads at 3 a.m. but it turns out fall in provo holds just as much promise.
