the blues are still blue
this week made me want to put vicks vapor rub on my eyes. school exploded. i don't know how to write anything that isn't in essay form. my essays are so convoluted right now. trying to write essays after a summer of staring at the computer and watching mtv eating hint of lime chips is no good. i find it hard to come up with any insight on trouthe in chaucer identity in my antonia or the politics of harrison bergeron. so mostly i just stick to saying the same things over and over. and over.
but i'd like to send a special thanks to a few people:
-boy in my early british literature class that brought a can of mandarin oranges to class. poked a hole in the top (i missed this part i'm not sure how he managed it) and then sipped the syrup all through the teacher's lecture on the canterbury tales. even though sweetbro next to him kept shooting threatening i could crush your skull looks, he just sipped away holding the can like it was his evening martini. swish swish slurp slurp oh ho ho. he did wait until class was over to bust out the can opener from his backpack and finish the rest off ("no my wife didn't pack me lunch! she never does. i have to pack hers! ho ho ho")
-david bowie reincarnate that sat across from me in the library today. could not stop staring at him. he noticed.
-byu international cinema for providing me with the most anxiety i've felt while watching a movie. pan's labyrinth.
-boys that feel it is their duty to inform me that "yeah. yeah you are a cute girl alison, and don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise."
me: "...."
-holli hale for being the funniest person in my life.
-macky for always being so careful when she climbs on the top bunk.
-alex for having a birthday party that was such a magical reunion of people i've missed in my life
-my mother for taking every one of my hysterical phone calls this week
-lauren for always being someone i can rely on to gmail chat me at work
here's to next week.

Cheers.
Oh my gosh. That guy with his mandarinOrange cocktail. I would have died. So weird. (At least it was during something to do with Canterbury.)
my antonia is one of my favs.
Ughhahdarrggghh
You are SO LUCKY to have such a nut in your Brit Lit class!! SO LUCKY
is harrison bergeron tom bergeron's brother? ha ha. i kid (and i watch too much tv).
<3 Pan's Labyrinth. So beautiful to watch and hear. And <3 that you stared at David Bowie lookalike until he noticed.
Alison, if it makes you feel any better, I too find it hard to come up with any insight on trouthe in chaucer identity in my antonia or the politics of harrison bergeron. I can barely keep up with the tao of Pooh.
Oh Al...have I mentioned how much I love reading your stuff?
