she was feeling particularly affectionate while we were listening to get up kids today.

while i am not a mommy blogger... i am a mother who blogs. so here's an elsie update for those (my mom) who are interested.


elsie. is becoming less and less of a baby everyday. she doesn't walk yet, but she cruises/pushes things around while walking. everytime we try to walk with her, holding her hands she refuses. whatever. she can take her time with it. lately she's been big into copying. she sits on the floor while i get ready for the day and pretends to put lotion on, brushes her hair, etc etc. she digs any songs with actions, "popcorn popping" being her favorite. maybe she watches a fair amount of blue's clues, and she does actions to the "whose clues? blue's clues!" song. her favorite food is probably cutie oranges, though now woefully out of season. she finally gave up the bottle, and is now drinking from a sippy cup. sort of. she doesn't really get the whole tip your head back thing, so she usually has to drink while reclining. elsie has  been binky-free for a week. for the most part, it's been pretty painless. naps are kind of challenging without it, but she's also been sick, so it's kind of hard to tell what's causing what. she's chatty, happy, and the cutest baby ever. i babysat my friend's little boy during the day for a month, and elsie was in heaven having someone to play with all day. she knows a few signs, such as eat, more, please, and all done. also, as of last night, she learned how to blow kisses.
