blah blah blog

sometimes i think about blogging and this is how i feel:

then i write a weight loss blog and quickly delete it because who wants to hear me talk about weight loss? nobody. who gets to hear me talk about weight loss? anyone that's talked to me in the last month. i'm one of those girls now.

but i guess moving to a new place warrants a blog, right? we live here in page, az. if you're wondering where page is, it's the place you might stop for gas on your way to phoenix, or the place that has a walmart where you buy your food for your boating trip on lake powell. page is nice because while it is a small town, it feels like a suburb. it's all concentrated but really it's a suburb of nothing.

it is beautiful. at the end of our street there is a beautiful view of lake powell and all the canyon-y red rock desetert-y goodness. it is hot. there is a lot of hiking, climbing, swimming, and fishing to be done. so far we've done hiking and swimming. we went on a big hiking spree (three hikes) when we first moved here. since then it's too hot to hike later than 10 a.m. so we've been slacking.

we also joined a city softball league. weston has had to drag me to every game so far, but i enjoy it once i'm there. i get pretty nervous, but i can hit the ball so i stay under the radar for the most part. i still can't throw a softball. nothing like throwing a softball straight into the ground.

i tried running for a week. seriously guys. i was so motivated. but i chose to run in my lacrosse shoes circa 2005, so after a week and a half i was having pretty unbearable pain in my knees. put a stop to that. maybe i'm relieved. i walk now and think about buying real running shoes. i do do yoga everyday though. yoga is not as easy as it used to be. i had a baby. go figure.

weston works at amangiri and loves it. it is fancy. i love amangiri because i'm going to get a facial there soon. i also love amangiri because after weston works there for a year we get five free nights at any aman resort. we're thinking here or here. ugh. don't you hate when you have to choose between montenegro and the carribean? seriously the worst guys.

elsie is still adorable. she's recently taken to going to bed at 7 p.m. which i can't say i'm opposed to. she is a lot of fun, becoming slightly more mobile, sort of plays with stuff (picks it up and puts it in her mouth), etc. more on elsie later. she gets her own post in a few days.

we've made some friends which is a huge relief. we do grown up friend things like eat dinner together, plan camping trips to sedona, and watch the bachelorette.

i'm also doing well. i lost my job the day we moved here, thanks for nothing guys, but then through a great friend found another freelance online writing job pretty quickly. this one is a little less steady but it's something so i'm happy. i have a tutoring job at the high school as well, but that doesn't start until the fall.

so what do i do? i read. i wake up early (the sun is UP at 5:00 a.m. here). i hang with elsie. i watch too much netflix. i try to eat better. i drink less coke. i cook a little. i go on walks and listen to podcasts. i look forward to weston's days off. still trying to find a groove here, but life is really good. we're happy in page.

kisskiss.

finallyyyy. i miss your blogging. it's like getting to hear your voice again-- especially since we've never never really been "talk on the phone" kind of friends.

Go to sedonaaaa. so pretty. Oh,and Jacob is trying to get me to join a softball team with his friends and their wives. not sure i can do it. Too many bad memories from Primary softball.
