water, so much water is under the bridge

106.
the number of hours i worked this last pay period.
(this is not an invitation for you to one-up me.)

i wish that i could write more about this job, but i feel like anything i write could be used in a law suit. working at a doctor's office does that to you. i will try to explain in the most politically correct and legal way possible:
one of the receptionists (there were three of us) decided to quit. well, to rephrase that, she decided to stop showing up to work for one of the most ridiculous and dramatic reasons possible. i don't know how much i'm allowed to say everyone is hush-hush (even though everybody knows what happened). i got interviewed by the sherriff. that's all i'm saying.

how in the world am i supposed to follow that? i was just going to go quietly, give my two weeks when i quit and go quietly about my business. but not now. i want to be remembered. after receptionist number 1 quit the way she did, i feel that that is a really tough act to follow. i'm under so much pressure.

the result of this unexpected (but entertaining, nonetheless) drama is that the other receptionist and i have to work. a lot. and we are always behind. i have never been more stressed, honestly.

i realize my situation is not unique. a lot of people are miserable at their jobs. however, i am going to come out and say it: i really really really really really don't like this job. i'm starting to get sort of sassy. but at the end of an 11 hour day when i'm frantically trying to pull files so i can finally go home and you come in and ask me to schedule some people that you called when you are perfectly capable of doing it yourself...
yeah i'll be sort of sassy.
or if you are a parent calling in demanding you need to talk the psychiatrist because your adult daughter is suicidal and i tell you there has actually been a cancellation that day so hey we could get you in at 2:15 could you make that appointment, and you say "hmph. i don't want to have to rearrange my whole schedule for this..." i'm sorry, you did say your daughter was suicidal, right?

people amaze me.

buuuuuuuuuut. i did ask Heavenly Father to help me earn enough money to get to london. i am getting a lot of hours and a lot of overtime hours. which equals moneys. so, He answers prayers and everything gets taken care of one way or another.

and i am so happy that the other receptionist still works there. because she was the nice one anyway. and she works harder than i do.

to get me through the days i have picked up a new hobby.
my new favorite hobby is countdowning.
4 weeks (20 days) left at my job.
32 days until i leave for london (i think. i just did that math in my head.)
3 weeks until mack/blake come to utah (roughly)
4 weeks (almost) until my birthday(!!!!!!!!!!!!)

this last weekend was lovely. i went to st. george with my mom, julia, and hayden. we ate, shopped, sat around in the heat, and went to plays at tuachan. i don't know how to spell that. julia and i saw les miserables, and it was fantastic. a very good, chill weekend. it is always nice to play the family.

speaking of which, my family is coming soon! hollllaaaaaaa! nephews! siblings!
all in one house!
sharing two bathrooms!
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaAAAHHH!

gah. i know what you mean about the terrible job and the long hours. i've got 25 days. 9 hours, and 11 minutes left at mine.
good luck.

Al, you are a kick in the pants. And I can't wait to hear you. And it sounds like work is awesome.

I HATE pulling charts.

Put I love pulleying. Especially if it involves people named George or Humphrey. And nutella (thought I'd throw that in there).
