i am happy.
it happens sometimes when i'm outside and the trees that finally have leaves are frantic with the coming storm and the repeating guitar refrain and brushes on kettle drums settle through my $3.95 earphones and i finally have a routine where people are in flux and my car smells overwhelming in the heat without rexburg winters to freeze its 12 trees worth of coconut sent hanging from my gear shifter
it happens sometimes when i'm glad for the only company i have being four girls trapped in africa in the book on my lap where i feel as corny as i really am and i stretch my arms up to the undecided sky thanking God for granting me this five minutes where everything fits together
the pending storm means a comforting day at the office
it happens sometimes when i'm riding with strangers on scooters that shake and i lose a shoe and a broken sprinkler threatens to soak us in the 60 degree midnight weather
it happens sometimes when i'm in a crowd of thousands of unmoving people hearing a nostalgic favorite anthem being pounded out a football field away and i remember what it was like when things meant something
it happens sometimes when everything is so much more simple than we all try to make it complexity trying to explain why i am picky and realize that some conversations can never be opened again that i am just as awkward as every awkward person i wonder at with my foot-in-mouth statements and "get a kick out of things" sense of humor i'm just as much a hassle with my need for attention and i'm just as insecure with the way i ramble on and onandonandon
ah i am so happy.
and i had to try to capture it.
before indoors traps everything that i'm trying to shake and i try to be sensible.
right now,
stuff is really
really good.
(inspired/soundtracked by the song, "lull" by andrew bird. listen to it. it'll make your life.)
