they took to their boats

before everything else blocks it out...

you know someday i really hope that i will learn to take what my mom tells me in the way that she intends it. i have some kind of mental block that the second my mom starts giving me any advice i immediately get defensive and completely closed off. what a waste of time. especially considering that more than half the time, deep down, i agree with her. and she is nearly always right. i think i should also realize that it is possible to take her advice, or anyone's advice for that matter, and still live my life how i think i should. it is still my choice. and that's not a bad thing. you would think that simply realizing that i do this would be enough for me to make a conscious effort to stop listening this way, but no. i only do after she gets up from the kitchen table all annoyed, i roll my eyes and go back into my room then stare at my ceiling for awhile wondering how long i could lay on that spot on my floor but then i get distracted by the disgusting amount of hair on my floor because i never vacuum. then i want to write her a letter saying sorry yes i do think that i should have more "unplugged" time where i'm not listening to an ipod or texting on a cell phone or typing on a laptop. i completely agree. now why i may not want to listen to what kind of boy you think i should be looking for, i could have responded better.
so i'm sorry.

i shouldn't waste sundays in such a mood.

when was the last time you really listened to transatlanticism?
