It's been a wild month. I'm not one for re-caps really, so we'll settle for:
-The holidays were great, spent with my family in SoJo. Spoiled. W got me a real film camera that I'm stoked about.
-Visit to Kingwood, TX was dreamy. I loved seeing where W. grew up. Beautiful place. Fun times with family and friends.
-Our current housing situation is 100 years old and smells like cat pee. Two things I battle on a daily basis. I wake up everyday wanting to move and end everyday with a resolve to just make it work.
Now I need to find my routine in regular married life. Not holidays 4 wedding functions in a month married life. Hopefully this routine involves cooking more, cleaning the house, finding somewhere to put all of our clothes, etc etc.
Once upon a time I applied for a job as an assitant on an academic radio program at BYU. It paid well and my job would be to research the scholars interviewed on the program, read their writings, and write questions for the show. Oh hey dream job. Oh hey somewhere where my skills and degree are applicable. I did not get said job. But it gave me hope that I can find a job that I feel is worth my effort. I miss research. I miss learning. I miss being academic and feelings somewhat interesting because at least I was being exposed to interesting ideas. I'm currently on a hunt for a job/hobby/anything something to bring this back into my life.
It's a pretty passive hunt due to my extreme laziness. Turns out my love for academia also means I won't do much unless I'm motivated by a grade. Working on that.
Two resolutions:
-eat healthier. I have nowhere to go but up with this one.
-start on getting my yoga teacher certification. The first step in this process is going to yoga classes 3 times a week.
Pictures to come from my new camera. Hopefully they are not all blurs. I think I got a little optimistic with my indoor shots.
kiss kiss 2011.
