if a bathroom door is shut, and you can see that the light is on through the crack at the bottom of the door...wouldn't you knock before trying the handle?
To play devil's advocate (because that's what they pay me for), couldn't one argue that one should ALWAYS lock at a therapist's office? That people there are often a bit distracted by other stuff?

I'm just saying.
But it wouldn't be fun to be walked in on.
i did lock it, and always do.
it's the principle of the thing.
even if i know the door is locked, i'm always feel very violated when people jiggle the door handle.
