i'll get money i'll get funny again

holli and i made a goal at the beginning this semester to be more social. "this means we have to go to stuff we don't want to go to," i said. a lot of awesome things have resulted. some awesome in different ways.

par exemple: we are good at attracting children. and by children i mean boys who are 18. or 17. i.e. we recently went to a show to support a friend. i was talking to the drummer of his band, he was cute. holli will back me up on this. our conversation:
me: blah blah blah oh so where are you from?
boychild: south jordan
me: ah me too! bingham?
boy: yeah! i go to bingham!
me: guhhhhhh

at another show holli had the pleasure of being hit on by a boy who graduated in 2009...
from davis high school. he uttered gems such as:
"i don't know what to say...you should probably say something..."
"there's just so many things i like about you and i don't even know you that well."

we spend a lot of our time walking around with our arms outstretched and thousand watt smiles glowing genuinely from our faces, trying to be as approachable as possible.

except when it comes to the fifth floor of the library. a recent phenomenon in my life. i've heard so much about it, and with my time as an undergrad at byu coming to a close i didn't want to miss out on this experience. it's like a mock-reality tv show up there. except better because they're real people. i'm not very good at making library friends turns out. i think you're supposed to take your earphones out and not actually be studying to do that. whatever. one step at a time.

some of our returns have been positive. like karaokeing with some cool kids in our ward (angela tristan and mitchell). watching dear frankie with the same cool kids at international cinema (which i really really loved. you should watch it). holli went on a date. i didn't go on a date. but i also haven't spoken to a boy under the age of 21 for at least a couple of weeks so there's progress.

it's nice though to come home on a friday night at 10:00 because i feel like it, wishing i had mtv or a lifetime original movie to watch but settling for taking a really long shower and eating peanut m&ms in front of my computer instead.

cheers.

Don't forget about being invited to that cocoa party! I felt like that was the cherry on top. I felt so VIP. And yes, I will totally back you up about that high school drummer. H e was the cutest guy/boy that had kinda spoken to me in a long time. Man, I'm pathetic.

You don't know how close this hits home to the whole summer Jordyn and I spent at King Horny.
Let me give you some tips on what doesn't work:
Waiting until the middle of the semester to try to worm your way in.
Standing in the back and having a grand old time with your significant other [insert Jordyn or Holli here] because you realize they're the only people you really want to talk to.
Leaving your libido at home.
