nothing you can do that can't be done

"There is always something left to love. And if you ain't learned that you ain't learned nothing...when do you think is the time to love somebody the most; when they done good and made things easy for everybody? Well then, you ain't through learning--because that ain't the time at all. It's when he's at his lowest and can't believe in hisself' cause the world done whipped him so. When you starts measuring somebody, measure him right, child, measure him right. Make sure you done taken into account what hills and valleys he come through before he got to wherever he is."
-A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry

(i realize nobody is in the context i am when i post these quotes. but after an entire day of doing nothing but reading and writing to try to catch up in a class it's nice when you learn something.)

(and because this recording gets me everytime, and it being a cloudy winter day i was wishing i could watch some beatles anthologies rather than write papers.)

kiss kiss.

The beautiful thing about quoting out of context is that it allows the quote to fit into whatever context is in the reader's mind. This quote is perhaps the most relevant and useful thing I could have read today.

p.s.-Yes, graduate life is often stressful and busy, but at the same time laid back and easy going. Plenty of time to read an occasional blog.
