(in the most fragmented form possible as tribute to my recent midterm on modernism)
"so.. you're an english major. you like reading, right? what kind of books do you like to read?"
"uhmm.. i don't know all kinds i guess. catcher in the rye is my favorite."
stare, close-lipped.
"oh... interesting..."
D7 is the number for junior mints in every vending machine on campus.
before i took one of my midterms yesterday i went to use the facilities in the wilk. on the toilet paper dispenser there was some very adorable graffiti (purple and pink gel pens with hearts all around it) that said, "good luck on your test." byu graffiti is so friendly.
boy with white jeans on campus today singing very animatedly to whatever was playing through his earphones closing his eyes, thrusting his hands, and tossing his jordan catalano hair.
double texting. baaad.
she wears sweats to class everyday and always has something to say. today she scoffed at a picasso painting, "i mean, it's not even pretty. like it doesn't make sense. i mean, i could do that if i wanted."
["and let every man esteem his brother as himself, and practise virute and holiness before me. Again I say unto you, let every man esteem his brother as himself." (D&C 38:24-25)]
regarding my most recent monumental letdown (i don't have loads going on in my life obviously)...the new moon soundtrack. which death cab champions with their thoroughly mediocre (dare i say terrible) song, "meet me on the equinox."
bassist from death cab nick harmer said, "We wrote 'Meet Me On the Equinox' to reflect the celestial themes and motifs that run throughout the Twilight series and we wanted to capture that desperate feeling of endings and beginnings that so strongly ...affect the main characters."
die die die.
walking home in the rain i really get wonderful ideas and love how i can look at the trees reflected on the sidewalk i know i'm going deaf because my music is up too loud but really the rain is just nice and i'm pretty happy dreaming about the time around 6 tonight when i can put on my grey tumble shorts and run dmc t-shirt with a black zip up hoodie listen to holli play me some songs eat a spinach salad and watch a movie i've been trying to watch for three days now.
in conclusion, a little of this. have a recently acquired obsession with this show.

i'm glad i'm not the only one that has D7 memorized. i also am mostly aware of which machines do and do not carry jr. mints.
U R KEWL BLOGR
Seriously this was the funniest thing ever--is that Junior Mints thing true?
And OMG MY SO CALLED LIFE freakin Jared Leto is/was one beautiful man. I can't believe you're watching it without me.
your obsession with mscl makes me want to rekindle my obesession.
I laughed out-loud at the toilet paper bit.
i'm not a death cab for cutie fan per se, but i know i would shot myself if any band i liked had a quote sayins such ridiculous things. i fully agree with your "die, die, die" comment. as far as the graffiti goes, the writing center's podcast, word of mouth, just did an episode on that same graffitti on campus. you should check it out. overall - excellent blog. i like it when you're a mondernist
Totally know who you're talking about in class, and I agree (with you that is). In fact, I was watching you when that comment was made, and couldn't help but laugh at your shaking head. Maybe one day people will learn.
I still can't help thinking that Claire Danes and I are old bff's because of that show. She was just so darned lovable on that show, wasn't she?
p.s. I did paint that Picasso painting so...
