oh, so i live in america now.

i had big plans for a nostalgic i'm homesick for london post today but then the video i wanted to upload didn't work. so i let that defeat me.

suffice it to say,
i miss london. i miss old british men in hats the parks the markets the museums my friends the plays the gelato the smell of waffles outside queensway station and the greeeeenness. i miss it a lot. being home is reality and it was fun to to live in not-reality.

but it is good to be home. and to be part of the poor and single club where we have to rent movies with quarters and dimes. literally. i love spending time with my parents and sleeping in not a bunk bed and having my own shower.

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before? lived abroad

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? here's the thing about that. i never ever remember what my resolutions are. so who knows if i kept them or not. if they had anything to do with weight or money the answer is no


3. Did anyone close to you give birth? yes. my sister-in-law. to my niece that i have not met yet. thank you family for moving away.

4. Did anyone close to you die? nope.

5. What countries did you visit? england, scotland, wales, france

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? a boyfriend that isn't too busy for me.

7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? mmm september-december 16. more specifically, the time i spent in ambleside, england because it changed my life and was beautiful and i decided what i wanted to do with my life. more or less.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? becoming a lot more independent in most ways.

9. What was your biggest failure? i'm going to have to echo alex and say taking too long to get over people. letting a break-up shake me as much as it did.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? i got this painful ear infection in london from sleeping with my headphones in (gross)

11. What was the best thing you bought? mmm...gelato mio. and my new i-pod

14. Where did most of your money go? lalalalondon. and by most of my money you mean all of my money.

16. What song will always remind you of 2008? oh gosh. "sadie" by joanna newsom, "tallymarks" by thao nguyen, "rumors" by josh ritter. among many, many others.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? psshhh.. i have quite an obsession with josh ritter, but there have been others. thao nguyen as well

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? i had a classy party and i turned 21

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? donno. it was a really good year. maybe a job that didn't take years off my life.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? i buy cheap stuff and lots of it
